• 6 month retention in care reports have been made standard protocol. Patients who have not been in care for 6 months will be contacted to re-establish care/ determine need. In analyzing this list it was determined that several individuals were actually deceased, or may have moved.
• We continue a referral tracking process with DHEC and OB/GYN.
• A collaborative between our clinic and the Charleston County Detention Center continues. They will contact us to obtain the correct drug regimen to keep patients on the correct HIV therapy.
• Transportation continues to be an identified barrier to care by consumers and providers. In addition to gas cards, bus passes and same day medical care/lab appointments, local DHEC nurses also provide transportation for co-infected, mutual patients (TB/HIV). They have been extremely supportive in getting patients to appointments.
